Photography is an artform based on what we can see with our own eyes, but in distorting and arranging what I photograph I can bring the viewers thoughts to my own motives. I am not only showing, I am telling and urging through my photos. In showing individuals and their changeable identities in relation to norms and time, both personal internal conflicts and the larger societal discussion gets a place in my photographs. My imagery is, like the classic novels of realism, based on the individuals experiences in everyday life, in order to illustrate interpersonal oppressive norms. Change and development in perspective is what drives my creativity forward.
